I really like this Nikon D7000 than the Nikon D300. It’s light and compact, much lighter and smaller than the D300. Sample test shots from Nikon D7000 using an 18-55mm kit lens with little post-processing on the white balance, levels and curves adjustments.

Sample Test Shotz

Hi ya! It’s been a long while since I last posted on my blog. I figure that I should make an update at least before the month ends and also a first blog for the year 2013.

As a late bloomer in DSLR, but not new in Photography. I acquired my first external flash unit the Nikon Speedlite SB-700 and few weeks later got myself a second flash gun which is the Yongnuo Speedlite YN460-II as of December last year. Yesterday night got a chance to test drive my 40″ shoot-through umbrella which I bought last sunday. 🙂 I’m at a novice level when using light modifiers such as umbrellas though it is not very difficult to setup but how to maximize it’s potential will depend on the creativity of the photographer itself… I somehow lack that creativity in my shoot… still haven’t got the knack on how to get a better light and position with my flash unit.

From one of my many attempts with different light settings, position and camera angle. Here’s what I got so far…..

Flash is on a light stand set on the left side about 6ft in height aiming down at 45° angle

Flash is position on the center-left side of the subject about 7-8ft in height aiming down at 45° angle with camera pop-up flash set to manual

Thanks for visiting!
